Macbeth – The Post-Postmodern White House Version: Act 2, Scene 2

Obama
I have beaten the Blob. Didst thou not hear a noise?
Rhodes
I heard the neocons scream and the liberals cry; they were so loud the thuds from blob-beating were drowned.
Obama
Hark! What’s that other issue we need to be mum and numb about?
Rhodes
Syria.
Obama
(Looking at his iPad) This is a sorry sight.
Rhodes
Consider it not so deeply. These deeds must not be thought after these ways. So, it will make us mad. Rather, be proud, and sleep.
Obama
But will all great Neptune’s ocean wash this blood clean from my hand?
Rhodes
What’s on your hand is chocolate, so soap will do. The blood is on your conscience where none of Neptune’s oceans can do the trick. Ignoring it might be the only solution.
Obama
Tomorrow, and tomorrow and tomorrow?
Rhodes
Exactly, just keep that petty pace to the last syllable of our recorded time, and you should be fine.
Obama
The bard has spoken.
